From Nebraska to South Dakota

We couldn’t write the last few days because we’ve been off the grid. We drove from MO. to NE. The trees became fewer and the corn and soy fields became larger. We stopped for lunch in Weston, MO. at O'Malley's Irish Pub.
What a cool place! It was a brewery before prohibition, but now it’s been re-opened and they make their own beers. It’s full of history, old pictures, old P.O. boxes, and old grape presses. But the coolest thing there of course, was - The Largest Ball of String! Yep….we saw it and now you can see it too. We spent the last two days in Indian Cave State Park in NE. We basically had the entire park to ourselves. The Missouri River views were terrific too!

Hiked to the top to see this view of the Missouri River
We did some biking and hiking, and enjoyed the cooler weather.  We spent today traveling from Shubert, NE. to Siox Falls, SD. and  saw more beautiful scenery!

  2. So THAT's the largest ball of string! I've often wondered what that looked like.

Indian Cave Caverns looks so pretty and peaceful. How nice that you had that to yourselves! Pretty photo of the Missouri River, too.

And I'm glad to see you customizing your blog with the Hi-Lo in the header spot! I'm lovin' this blog!

By the way, how cool has it been? (I froze the last 2 weeks of August in California!)
